Job summary

Orono Public Schools is seeking an Afterschool Program Attendant to provide essential support for afterschool enrichment classes. You will help with student check-in, escorting students to enrichment rooms, and assisting instructors to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.

The role is part-time, typically 3:15 PM – 5:15 PM on weekdays, with compensation at $15/hour and Sick and Safe Time accrual. The district website is www.oronoschools.org for more details.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Prior experience working with children in a school, camp, or recreational setting is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to walk, stand, and move actively around the facility for the duration of the shift.

Responsibilities

• Student Arrival & Escort: Greet and check in students as they arrive; safely escort groups to rooms.
• Classroom Assistance: Support instructors with supervision and material distribution.
• Parent & Vendor Logistics: Guide parents to pickup areas and verify authorized pickup contacts.
• Program Materials & Site Wrap-Up: Collect badges, attendance binders, equipment and return to office.
• Safety & Communication: Maintain clear communication with Enrichment Coordinator regarding attendance and questions.
