Job summary

Sunnyside Community Services is seeking a Dance Activity Specialist to oversee the care and safety of K–5 students while delivering engaging, age-appropriate dance lessons at PS 150Q in Sunnyside, Queens. You will collaborate with the Group Leader and Content Specialist to tailor the curriculum for diverse learners.

Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, teaching multiple classes daily, and supporting parent showcases and events.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Available Monday – Friday, 2–5:45 pm (limited flexibility).
• Experience working with children in a school environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of K-5th grade children with the Group Leader and ensure safety.
• Create and carry out age-appropriate lesson plans related to the program theme.
• Teach at least two Dance classes per day.
• Prepare materials and visuals for participants and assist with events.
• Attend trainings and meet regularly with supervisor to share best practices.
