Job summary

Sunnyside Community Services seeks an Art Activity Specialist to lead art programming for elementary students at PS 150Q in Sunnyside, Queens. You will develop age-appropriate lessons, tailor curricula to diverse learning styles, and teach two art classes per day under guidance from program leadership.

This role supports a broader Youth and Family Services portfolio including after-school and enrichment programs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school environment is preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication and teaching skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of K-5 students and ensure safety.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate art lessons.
• Teach at least two art classes daily.
• Prepare materials and create visuals for participants.
• Coordinate with supervisors for parent showcases.
• Attend mandated trainings and workshops.
• Maintain cleanliness and organize supplies.
• Arrive on time in uniform and ready to engage with participants.
