Job summary

Watertown Public Schools in Watertown, MA, is seeking an Extended Day Student Support Aide to assist with after-school care for PreK–Grade 5 students. The role involves supporting transition from school day to extended day, personal care as needed, and implementing accommodations and behavior support plans.

The position is part-time with a minimum 2 days/week and additional hours on special district days. CPR/First Aid and annual trainings are required.

Qualifications

At least one year of experience working with school-age children.
At least one year of special education experience preferred.
Associate’s Degree or coursework toward a degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure a smooth transition for students from the school day to the extended day program.
Assist students with personal care needs as appropriate.
Implement student and program accommodations as appropriate.
Follow and support student behavior plans and IEPs/504 Plans as provided by the District.
Run behavior intervention programs and social opportunities with peers.
Assist students in using assistive technology and PECS.
Accompany and support students on field trips.
May be required to support at other Extended Day sites.
Maintain student data as directed by school service providers.
