Job summary

Elm Street School (Walpole Public Schools) seeks an Extended-Day 1:1 Aide in Walpole, MA, for a part-time role from 7:00-9:00 am and 3:00-6:00 pm, Monday–Friday, starting immediately for the 2026-2027 school year. The role provides social and behavioral support to a specific student with high-need disabilities within the Extended Day program.

Essential duties include ensuring a safe environment, lifting up to 25 lbs, assisting with de-escalation, coordinating with staff, and reporting concerns

Qualifications

• College graduate preferred.
• Safety Care trained preferred.
• Ability to engage students with high levels of need due to disability.
• Fingerprint verification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide social and behavioral support to a high-need student in Extended Day.
• Safely supervise and assist the student, including lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Use basic de-escalation techniques if the student becomes dysregulated.
• Consult with Extended Day staff regarding the student’s needs.
• Report issues or behaviors to extended day staff as appropriate.
