Job summary

New York Edge in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Director to help administer the After-School Program under the supervision of the ASPD and Program Manager. You will implement enrichment activities, schedule events, supervise staff, maintain records, and communicate with parents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or actively pursuing a BA.
• Minimum of one year of work-related experience.
• Experience teaching and instructing youth in academics, sports, or arts.
• Knowledge of the NYC Department of Education (NYC DOE).

Responsibilities

• Supervise academic counselors and oversee program components.
• Prepare activities to complement homework sessions.
• Lead off-site trips and supervise youth and staff.
• Foster academic, cultural, and artistic growth.
• Provide coverage for activity specialists.
• Promote teamwork and sportsmanship at the site and on trips.
• Communicate progress and challenges with the After-School Program Director.
• Ensure compliance with DYCD, DOE, and DOHMH regulations.
