Cathey Middle School in McAllen, Texas is seeking a Part-Time After School Dance Coach/Instructor for the 2026-27 school year. This role supports the UIL Dance program under the McAllen ISD Fine Arts Department.

The coach will work up to 19 hours per week, starting immediately, coaching student athletes, upholding UIL rules, and ensuring safety with First Aid/CPR certification. Education: high school diploma or GED, with an associate degree or 48 college hours preferred.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED
• Associate's Degree or a minimum of 48 college hours, required
• Special Knowledge/Skills: ability to work cooperatively with student athletes, coaching staff, teachers, administration and parents; UIL requirements for coaches; First Aid and CPR certified; attend UIL Orientation Session; attend Concussion Training; knowledge of fitness and sports activities; ability to read, write and follow instructions

Responsibilities

• Coach a school UIL sport (Dance) as part of the Fine Arts Department
• Work with student athletes, coaching staff, teachers, administration and parents to ensure program success
