Job summary

McAllen Independent School District is hiring a Middle School After School Coach for the 2026-27 school year. This part-time position supports the athletic department, coaching a UIL sport at Brown, Cathey, De Leon, Fossum, Morris, and Travis Middle Schools.

Work up to 25 hours per week across 180 instructional days, with biweekly pay. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED (associate degree or 48 college hours preferred) and must meet UIL coaching requirements, First Aid/CPR

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and Associate’s Degree or a minimum of 48 college hours, required.
• Must fulfill UIL requirements for coaches: Rules Compliance Program, First Aid and CPR certified.
• Must attend UIL Orientation and Concussion Training as scheduled.
• Ability to work cooperatively with student athletes, coaching staff, teachers, administration and parents.

Responsibilities

• Coaches a middle school UIL sport offered by McAllen ISD Athletic Department (football, volleyball, cross country, tennis, swimming, basketball, soccer, golf, cheerleading & track).
• Provide instruction, supervision and guidance to student athletes; promote teamwork and sportsmanship.
