Job summary

McAllen Independent School District Morris Middle School in McAllen, Texas is seeking a part-time After School Dance Coach/Instructor to lead a UIL dance program and guide student athletes after school hours.

You will work with coaching staff, teachers and parents to ensure safety, compliance and positive team experiences; experience with dance preferred; must meet UIL requirements and record-keeping as required by the district.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; Associate's Degree or 48 college hours required.
• Special Knowledge/Skills: UIL compliance, First Aid & CPR certified, ability to work with students, parents and staff.
• Experience: Prior coaching or youth athletic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach a UIL sport: Dance for the after-school program.
• Work with student athletes, coaching staff, teachers and parents to ensure safety and engagement.
• Attend UIL Orientation and Concussion Training as scheduled; maintain required certifications.
• Support program operation during 226 days / up to 19 hours per week.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Hired applicant is responsible for coaching a school UIL sport offered by the McAllen ISDFine Arts Department: Dance

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or GED

Associate's Degree or a minimum of 48 college hours, required

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work cooperatively with student athletes, coaching staff, teachers, administration and parents; must fulfill all UIL requirements for coaches-Rules Compliance Program, Professional Acknowledgement Form, First Aid and CPR certified, must attend a UIL Orientation Session, must attend Concussion Training as scheduled; knowledge of fitness and sports activities; and ability to speak, read, write and follow written and oral instructions

Experience:

Previous experience working with student athletes in sports and recreational activities preferred

Working Days: 226 / Up to 19 hrs per week
