Cathey Middle School in McAllen, Texas is seeking a Part-Time After School Dance Coach/Instructor for the 2026-27 school year. This role supports the UIL Dance program under the McAllen ISD Fine Arts Department.

The coach will work up to 19 hours per week, starting immediately, coaching student athletes, upholding UIL rules, and ensuring safety with First Aid/CPR certification. Education: high school diploma or GED, with an associate degree or 48 college hours preferred.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Hired applicant is responsible for coaching a school UIL sport offered by the McAllen ISDFine Arts Department: Dance

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or GED

Associate's Degree or a minimum of 48 college hours, required

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work cooperatively with student athletes, coaching staff, teachers, administration and parents; must fulfill all UIL requirements for coaches-Rules Compliance Program, Professional Acknowledgement Form, First Aid and CPR certified, must attend a UIL Orientation Session, must attend Concussion Training as scheduled; knowledge of fitness and sports activities; and ability to speak, read, write and follow written and oral instructions

Experience:

Previous experience working with student athletes in sports and recreational activities preferred

Working Days: 226 / Up to 19 hrs per week
