Job summary

St. Martin of Tours School in Gaithersburg, MD, is seeking an After School Program Assistant for the 2026-27 school year.

This part-time role reports to the Principal and runs daily from 2:30pm to 5:30pm, with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour. The position involves homework help, curriculum-driven activities, and supervision of enrichment activities such as sports, arts, and drama for students in the After School Program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Criminal background check and 2 sets of fingerprints.
• Valid Driver’s License/ID.
• Minimum Age 18+ years old.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Must meet state health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Be a positive role model for students.
• Provide leadership and guidance for approximately 20-30 students.
• Organize and manage a group of students with the ability to maintain a calm and quiet classroom to facilitate homework time.
• Plan and implement recreation activities such as kickball, soccer, four square, basketball, steal the bacon, etc.
• Supervise children on playground and classrooms.
• Treat children with dignity and respect, while helping to build self-esteem and confidence through one-on-one interaction.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
