Job summary

St. Martin of Tours School in Gaithersburg, MD is hiring an After School Program Assistant for the 2026-27 school year. This part-time role reports to the Principal and runs daily from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, at the St.

Martin of Tours location. The position involves providing homework help, organizing curriculum-driven activities, and supervising enrichment options such as sports, arts, music, crafts, drama and dance for students in the After School Program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass criminal background check and 2 sets of fingerprints.
• Possess a valid driver’s license/ID.
• Minimum age 18+ years old.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must meet state health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Be a positive role model for students.
• Provide leadership and guidance for approximately 20-30 students.
• Organize and manage a group of students with the ability to maintain a calm and quiet classroom to facilitate homework time.
• Plan and implement recreation activities such as kickball, soccer, four square, basketball, and other games.
• Supervise children on playground and classrooms.
• Treat children with dignity and respect, while helping to build self-esteem and confidence through one-on-one interaction.
