Job summary

BBA Afterschool Inc. is seeking energetic After-School Instructors to teach Chess or STEM to elementary students in Prince George's County. This part-time, after-school role runs Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with 1.5-hour sessions and a curriculum provided.

No weekends or lesson planning required; you’ll gain classroom leadership experience and build communication skills in a supportive environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience playing or teaching Chess or STEM subjects preferred but not required.
• Comfortable working with children in grades K through 5.
• Reliable transportation to schools throughout Prince George's County.
• Must successfully complete the required Prince George's County Public Schools background check and fingerprinting process.

Responsibilities

• Teach elementary students either Chess or STEM activities.
• Follow BBA's structured curriculum and lesson plans.
• Create a fun, safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
• Supervise groups of approximately 15 to 25 students.
• Encourage critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, and teamwork.
• Communicate professionally with school staff and BBA leadership.
