Job summary

Ymca-of-Eastern-Delaware-County's Westbrook Park Elementary site is seeking energetic OST staff for the school year. You will assist in implementing daily operations, uphold the YMCA mission, and create a safe, inclusive environment for children.

Shifts include Morning Care 7:30-8:30am and After Care 2:45-6:00pm, Monday through Friday. The role emphasizes caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and requires engagement with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Preferred CDA, Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related human services field.
• Minimum 3 years (2500 hours) documented experience working with children.
• Strong Leadership and Communication Skills.
• A commitment to continuous quality program improvements.
• Certifications: CPR/AED and Pediatric First Aid within 15 days of hire.
• Attainment of trainings as required by the YMCA and DHS.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and evaluating daily operations of the Child Care classroom.
• Uphold the YMCA Mission and core values in all interactions.
• Plan, implement, and assess activities using PA Early Learning Standards.
• Maintain child portfolios and inclusive, culturally diverse experiences.
• Maintain paperwork and submit to Child Care Office timely.
• Attend staff meetings and family events as required by Center Director.
• Support Group Supervisors when needed and coordinate with aides.
• Perform other duties to ensure program success.
