Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) seeks part-time Activity Specialists for COMPASS middle school programs at Brooklyn College. Roles cover Music Production, Art, Dance, Theater, STEM, Digital Media, and Podcast with structured after-school activities and project showcases.

Responsibilities include lesson planning, safe inclusive environments, and mentoring youth. Various shifts Mon-Fri 2–5:30 PM; DYCD compliance and weekly PD are part of the role.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of NYC DOE Public School system.
• Commitment to equity and culturally responsive teaching.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong interest in community work and youth development.
• Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace.

Mansioni

• Design, organize, and lead activities in Music Production, Art, Dance, Theater, STEM, Digital Media, or Podcast.
• Create developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive lesson plans.
• Foster a safe, inclusive environment for all participants.
• Facilitate hands-on experiences that build skills, collaboration, and confidence.
• Prepare participants for culminating events such as showcases or performances.
• Support homework help, enrichment sessions, and program-wide activities as needed.
• Maintain attendance and activity records per DYCD requirements.
• Report incidents to the Program Director in a timely manner.
• Build rapport with youth and mentor/guide their academic and SEL growth.
• Attend weekly check-ins and participate in ongoing PD with BCCP and DYCD partners.
• Ensure compliance with NYC DOE, DOHMH, DYCD, and NYS SACC regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
