Job summary

Veronica Arts Media Inc. seeks an Activity Specialist for the COMPASS after-school program in the Bronx. The role focuses on planning engaging, age-appropriate activities, aligned with DYCD/COMPASS-SONYC frameworks, to foster creativity and positive youth development.

The position is part-time (20 hours/week) with duties including supervision, collaboration with staff, and ongoing professional development. Orientation occurs in late August before the September start.

Qualifications

• Must be available after-school hours, 2:00pm–6:00pm, 20 hours/week.
• Demonstrated experience working with children or youth in group settings.
• Knowledge of classroom management and youth development principles.
• Familiarity with DYCD and DOE safety guidelines.
• Ability to engage, motivate, and create age-appropriate enrichment activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead project-based activities in arts, STEM, sports, or leadership.
• Prepare materials and maintain safe, organized activity spaces.
• Collaborate with group leaders and site staff to support youth needs.
• Attend trainings, meetings, and events as required.
• Support supervision during snack, dismissal, field trips, and events.
