Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Red Wing to help people pursue their goals through person-centered care. You’ll build relationships, assist with daily living, and support community involvement in a small residential home.

Pay starts at $17.00 per hour with a raise to $17.50 after six months, plus a $2,000 hiring bonus. We offer training, benefits, PTO, and growth opportunities in a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or formal education required — training provided.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.
• Genuine heart for helping others.

Pay:

• $17.00/hr!


• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase to $17.50/hr!


• $2000 Hiring Bonus*

What You’ll Do:

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support


• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation


• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills


• Advocate for people with identified needs’ rights, needs, and preferences


• Monitor health and well‑being and report changes as needed


• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings

Work Environment:

• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs
