Job summary

Library of the Chathams is seeking an Adult Services Associate to support programs, reference services, and community outreach for adults. The role includes running book clubs, staffing the information desk, assisting with holds, and developing displays, with emphasis on building a well-rounded collection.

The position is part-time (25 hours per week) with evening and weekend duties, reporting to the Adult Services Department Head.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of library experience, including circulation/customer service.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Runs one or more book clubs or other regular programming.
• Staffs the information desk and assists patrons with reference questions.
• Helps with holds and program development; runs programs as needed.
• Creates and maintains book displays; assists in collection development.
• Coordinates material selection and location changes within the library.
