Job summary

The Library of the Chathams seeks an Adult Services Associate for a 25-hour weekly, part-time role. The position reports to the Adult Services Department Head and collaborates with the Assistant Director and the Community Outreach Coordinator on programming.

Responsibilities include delivering adult services, programming, reference services, readers’ advisory, and community outreach. The role requires experience at a library service desk, program development, and collection management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of library experience including circulation/customer service desk and Readers’ Advisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Runs one or more book clubs or other regular programming developed in-house.
• Staffs the information desk and assists patrons with reference questions and readers’ advisory.
• Assists in holds work and program development; creates and maintains book displays.
• Coordinates and implements collection development in selected areas; assists in material relocation and weeding.
