Job summary

The Adult Education Instructor at Cleveland State Community College provides instructional services including teaching, assessment, and student support to help adults achieve high school equivalency and improve core academic skills. This grant-funded, part-time position may require travel to multiple locations and evenings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Tennessee Teacher’s License (or approved waiver).
• Minimum of one year of teaching experience within K-12 & Post-secondary.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Plan, teach, and evaluate student work aligned to curriculum standards.
• Create a positive learning environment and monitor instruction.
• Adapt resources to support diverse learner needs and goals.
• Guide students toward high school equivalency and NRS standards.
• Maintain records using LACES and participate in testing (TABE/OPT).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
