Job summary

Cleveland State Community College is seeking an Adult Education Instructor for the Cleveland campus. The position is part-time and temporary, not to exceed 29 hours per week, with duties focused on teaching, assessment, and student support in the Adult Education program.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and a Tennessee Teacher’s License (or waiver), plus at least one year of teaching experience in K-12 or post-secondary education. Travel to satellite locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Tennessee Teacher’s License (or approved waiver).
• Minimum of one year of teaching experience within K-12 & Post-secondary.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Plan, teach, and evaluate student work aligning with curriculum standards.
• Implement and monitor classroom activities for a positive learning environment.
• Select and adapt instructional resources to support learning goals.
• Assist in TABE/OPT testing and related student assessment.
• Maintain records using LACES and other required systems.
