Job summary

Gwinnett Technical College is seeking a part-time Adjunct Faculty in Business Technology, focusing on Medical Administrative Procedures and Medical Office Billing/Coding/Insurance. The candidate should hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s in a related field (or an Associate degree with relevant experience), plus at least two years of college teaching and industry

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline OR Associate’s degree AND related work experience.
• Two years of college teaching experience (face-to-face and/or online).
• Experience teaching utilizing the Blackboard Learning Management System.
• Five or more years of work experience in medical billing, records management, insurance, and medical office procedures.
• Certified Medical Administrative Assistant Certification (CMAA) or Certified Medical Administrative Specialist Certification (CMAS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers lecture and/or lab course material for Medical Administrative Procedures and Medical Office Billing/Coding/Insurance.
• Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for core courses.
• Evaluates students’ progress and attainment of goals and objectives.
• Maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
• Assists with recruitment retention and job placement efforts.
