Job summary

Apostolic Christian Restmor Inc. in Morton, IL is seeking a part-time Activities Assistant to implement activity services aligned with residents’ social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual needs.

You will plan, lead, and evaluate programs, supervise volunteers, and assist residents to events, both on-site and off-site, while maintaining an engaging activity space. Flexible evenings and weekend rotation are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with or exposure to individuals with cognitive or functional deficits preferred but not required.
• General working knowledge of computers.
• High energy level; leadership characteristics and ability to work independently.
• Positive attitude and caring approach required.
• Must express a team-oriented attitude.
• High level of organization required.
• Availability to work 3:00pm-9:00pm on Mon, Wed, Fri; every other weekend and a holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

• Plans, leads, and evaluates assigned programs, including hands-on activities for residents.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of activity room, office, and storage areas.
• Tracks residents’ attendance at activities.
• Participates in development of resident goals and interventions via Care Plan process.
• Aids residents to and from activity programs both internally and off-site.
• Initiates and maintains intra-facility relations and communication.
• Provides supervision of volunteers during activity programs.
• Provides one-to-one interventions for residents as assigned or on-call.
• Designs and upkeeps bulletin boards, resident room calendars, and daily sheets.
• Other duties as assigned.
