Job summary

Allied Universal in Baytown, TX is seeking a part-time Security Officer EAST FWY to protect client sites across utilities and more. The role emphasizes access control, credential verification, and delivering excellent customer service.

You will monitor gates, respond to incidents, and maintain logs while following site procedures. A valid driver's license is required; guard card preferred, and background checks and drug screening apply.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required in the job state.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and drivers at a utilities location by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and control entry and exit in accordance with site requirements.
• Observe vehicle and pedestrian traffic at gates and entry areas, communicate access concerns to appropriate site contacts, and document security-related incidents and irregularities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access-control areas, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
