Job summary

Allied Universal in Houston, TX is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control Specialist. This role provides flexible, reliable hours at an assigned site with potential to earn more by picking up extra shifts and building experience across sites. Pay rate is $14.00 per hour, with fixed anchor shifts and a program to claim additional shifts for greater earnings. The position requires strong customer service and access-control skills.

Qualifications

• Access control/badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and access-control requirements.
• Monitor and control entry/exit points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and maintain access-control records.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and communicate observations to site contacts and leadership.
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas and perimeters; report conditions and potential violations.
• Observe and report unusual activity or hazards to protect personnel, property, and operations.
