Job summary

Allied Universal® in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Part Time Security Officer for Access Operations. You will help manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and drivers.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Background checks and drug screening per policy.
• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by following security procedures and site policies, and assist with emergencies as needed.
• Monitor and control access by verifying credentials and directing authorized personnel.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly, escalating to site contacts when needed.
• Monitor entry/exit points, traffic, and restricted areas to deter unauthorized access.
• Conduct regular patrols of premises and parking areas; adapt to location variations.
