Job summary

Allied Universal in Rockaway, NJ is seeking a Part Time Identity Verification Security Officer. You will manage access at residential sites, verify credentials, issue badges, and maintain accurate visitor records while delivering professional customer service.

This role offers flexible day/evening shifts, opportunities to learn new security tasks using our Claim a Shift platform, and a chance to join a reputable team that prioritizes safety and integrity in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and vendors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization for guests and service providers, and maintain visitor and vehicle access records in accordance with residential community procedures.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, parking locations, entry points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Report security-related concerns, unusual activity, maintenance issues, and policy violations according to site procedures.
