Our U.S. locations operate on a hybrid model with three in-office days and two remote days weekly. Starting Q1 2025, this will shift to a four-day in-office schedule, Monday-Thursday, to enhance collaboration and innovation.

Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance

The Academic Support Advisor promotes student success through accurate advisement in academics, registration, persistence, and overall student experience. Responsibilities include building supportive environments, providing excellent customer service, identifying student needs, mentoring, and collaborating with university support teams to address inquiries effectively. The role models TEACH values and fosters a culture of Chamberlain CARE aligned with our mission, vision, and purpose.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist students with course registration and ensure understanding of degree and practicum requirements.
  2. Advocate for advising needs that support enrollment, engagement, and completion of educational goals.
  3. Advise on policies, procedures, program requirements, and academic matters.
  4. Monitor students proactively to identify at-risk scenarios and develop success strategies.
  5. Utilize systems and data to track enrollment, persistence, and graduation, documenting interactions appropriately.
  6. Coach students to overcome barriers and refer resources when needed.
  7. Maintain understanding of academic programs, policies, and regulations, ensuring compliance.
  8. Promote student self-service tools during advising interactions.
  9. Engage students through various communication channels, including virtual advising and outreach.
  10. Identify and participate in improving organizational methods and processes.
  11. Collaborate across departments to enhance the student experience.
  12. This position is a designated Campus Security Authority.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
  14. Adhere to all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 1+ year experience in customer service, academic advising, or higher education preferred.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-starter with effective prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet applications, and databases; experience with Student Information Systems is a plus.
  • On-site location: 2601 Navistar Dr. Lisle IL. 60532.
  • Working hours: Mon 8am-4:30pm; Tues-Thurs 9am-2pm; Sat 9am-2pm (once every 8 weeks).

Additional Information

Salary range: $18.70 - $33.84, adjusted based on experience, location, and other factors. Benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, 401k with 6% match, paid vacation, holidays, and more. For details, visit https://careers.adtalem.com/benefits.
