Job summary

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) seeks an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to train dental students in diagnosis, treatment planning, sequencing, and surgical procedures. The role is part-time, up to 20 hours per week, with responsibilities including student consultations, emergency response, and supervision of practice activities.

The incumbent will teach third year dental students, manage pathology assessment and biopsies, and collaborate with external specialists when cases

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree with ADA-accredited Oral Surgery training.
• PA dental license or ability to obtain license.
• 10+ years of experience practicing Oral Surgery.
• Strong diagnostic and treatment planning skills.
• Experience teaching and supervising dental students.

Responsibilities

• Advise students during consultations in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
• Provide diagnosis and treatment planning guidance.
• Teach third year dental students basic Oral Surgery procedures.
• Supervise patient care and emergencies in the dental group practices.
• Coordinate with private oral surgeons for cases beyond teaching scope.
• Attend meetings and participate in scholarly activity and community outreach.
