Tedk12 is seeking a Part Time Academic Interventionist at the middle school level to provide targeted literacy supports. The role partners with the Literacy Coach and classroom teachers to implement evidence-based interventions that build foundational reading skills.

The position emphasizes small-group instruction, progress monitoring, and collaboration within MTSS processes to accelerate growth and increase student confidence in reading.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, small-group and individualized literacy intervention for students identified through universal screening and progress monitoring data.
• Deliver explicit, systematic, and evidence-based instruction in foundational reading skills.
• Collaborate with the Building Literacy/Instructional Coach to plan, implement, monitor, and refine intervention services.
• Use assessment data to identify student needs, set instructional goals, and adjust interventions based on student progress.
• Participate in problem-solving teams, data meetings, and MTSS processes.
• Support the implementation of district literacy initiatives and evidence-based instructional practices.
• Maintain a positive, supportive learning environment that promotes student confidence, engagement, and academic growth.
• Participate in professional learning opportunities related to literacy instruction, intervention practices, and adolescent reading development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or district administration.

Position Summary

The Middle School Literacy Academic Interventionist provides targeted reading instruction to students who require additional support in foundational literacy skills. Working in close collaboration with the building Literacy Coach, classroom teachers, special education staff, and administrators, the interventionist implements strategic interventions designed to accelerate student growth in reading. This position focuses on building foundational reading skills, including phonological awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension, while supporting students in accessing grade-level curriculum.

• Provide direct, small-group and individualized literacy intervention for students identified through universal screening and progress monitoring data.
• Deliver explicit, systematic, and evidence-based instruction in foundational reading skills.
• Collaborate closely with the Building Literacy/Instructional Coach to plan, implement, monitor, and refine intervention services.
• Use assessment data to identify student needs, set instructional goals, and adjust interventions based on student progress.
• Participate in problem-solving teams, data meetings, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) processes.
• Support the implementation of district literacy initiatives and evidence-based instructional practices.
