Position Description
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Coaching and OpportunityPrograms, the Part-Time Academic Coach for Act 101 Studentsprovides academic coaching to students in Eastern’s Act 101Program.
Position Responsibilities
- Provides online academic coaching to students in the Act 101Program with study skills, time/self-management, test-taking,reading strategies, etc.
- As requested, develops and presents online workshops focused onstudy skills, time management, "negotiating the system" (e.g.,registration, financial aid), etc.
- Maintains case documentation and prepares weekly recordsofcontacts and other summary reports as requested by the AssistantDirector of Coaching and Opportunity Programs.
- Assists students with navigating University systems such asfinancial aid and registration.
- Assists academically under-prepared or underperforming studentsin creating and following programs for improvement.
- Maintains competencies with web-based training and attendanceat seminars.
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Coachingand Opportunity Programs.

Status: Part-time 19 hours/week, 12 months per year.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education, student affairs, counseling or arelated field and a minimum of one year's experience in academicsupport, counseling, and/or advising in an institution of highereducation are strongly preferred.
- Proven written and oral communication skills, excellentinterpersonal skills, and organization and attention to detail areessential.
- Demonstrated student service orientation, and proficiency withMicrosoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite
- are required.
- One-two years of experience with Brightspace preferred.Experience with Zoom, online education preferred.
- Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines and abilityto work independently in a cross-functional team fostering trustwith all levels of faculty, staff, and leadership areessential.
- Experience in, or positive attitude towards, adult education isessential.

Employment in this role is contingent upon the availability ofgrant funds, satisfactory job performance, and the program'songoing operational needs. I n the event that grant funding isreduced, terminated, or not renewed, your position may be subjectto modification or termination
