Job summary

The College of DuPage is seeking an Academic Assistant I to support students across disciplines in writing, reading, and public speaking. This role offers part-time hours during the academic year and may include evening/weekend availability, with in-person or online assistance.

Responsibilities include orientations on WRSC services, staying current on study-skills topics, and serving as a resource to fellow academic assistants. Associate's degree required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required, including English 1102 and Speech 1100 with a grade of B or higher and a GPA of 3.3.
• GPA of 3.3 required.
• Experience teaching or providing academic assistance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide writing, reading, and public speaking assistance to students, in person or online.
• Provide in-class orientations on WRSA services.
• Maintain current knowledge in subject areas and general study skills.
• Serve as a resource to peer academic assistants and other academic assistants.
• Develop and participate in training on related topics. Develop and compile resource materials.
