College of DuPage seeks an Academic Assistant II to provide writing, reading, and speech support to students across disciplines. The role involves in-person and online sessions within the WRSA area, including workshops and orientations.

Fifteen to twenty-five hours per week during academic terms, with some evening or weekend availability. A Bachelor's degree and experience teaching or tutoring are required, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifikationen

• Experience teaching or providing academic assistance.
• Experience presenting in groups.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including proficiency in spoken English.

Aufgaben

• Provide writing, reading, and public speaking assistance to students in all academic disciplines taught at the College of DuPage, in-person and online.
• Provide in-class and online orientations on WRSA services.
• Conduct and/or create workshops on various writing, reading, and speech topics to be presented in classrooms or through webinars.
• Consult and serve as a resource to other academic assistants and peer academic assistants.
• Develop and/or participate in training on WRSA related topics.
• Maintain current and relevant knowledge in subject areas and general study skills.
