Job summary

AIM, the Aviation Institute of Maintenance, seeks a part-time Aircraft Mechanic Instructor in Chicago to deliver FAA Part 147-aligned instruction and mentor students preparing for FAA certifications. No teaching background required; a 5-day paid training program is provided.

You will apply hands-on A&P experience in classroom and hangar settings, maintaining documentation while supporting program leadership. Compensation includes up to $41/hour plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Three years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience.
• FAA A&P certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach FAA-aligned curriculum in a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and skill development.
• Support program leadership in the development and revision of high quality, accurate course materials.
• Record accurate attendance, grades, evaluations, and other required documentation.
• Notify leadership of any emerging concerns affecting student performance or classroom operations.
• Complete required training and participate in classroom observations and evaluations.
• Complete other tasks and projects assigned by Supervisor.
