Job summary

Pine County is seeking a part-time Emergency Dispatch Specialist to operate in the County Dispatch Center, handling 911 and non-emergency calls. You will create service calls in CAD, determine priority, and dispatch police, fire, EMS, and air units as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BCA certification preferred, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Benefits are offered for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and minimal experience in an office/clerical, customer services, communication or law enforcement setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: technical degree in communications.
• BCA Certificate required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Answers all 911 emergency and non-emergency calls in the County Dispatch Center.
• Creates calls for service in the CAD system and determines priority for dispatch.
• Dispatches police, fire, ambulance, and/or air ambulance services.
• Assists officers with license plates, drivers licenses, warrants checks and criminal histories.
• Monitors all frequencies on the 800MHz radio system and relays information to personnel.
• Enters warrants and NCIC data; updates RMS records.
• Performs monthly Civil Defense Siren testing and Emergency Paging System tests.
