Job summary

Missouri Department of Corrections seeks qualified candidates for a probation and parole related role. The successful candidate will evaluate offenders' environments, counsel and monitor, and collaborate with courts and agencies to ensure public safety.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience in Probation & Parole Assistant, Correctional Officer, or Office Support Assistant or above within the Missouri Department of Corrections.
• AND possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.

Responsibilities

• Investigates offender's home, work, and social environments; collects, verifies, and evaluates data for reports and records.
• Counsels offenders in homes, workplaces, or confinement; attends court to receive assignments and provide reports.
• Assists in vocational, educational, and social adjustment planning; cooperates with public/private agencies and law enforcement; investigates violations; takes action including warrants.
• Prepares statistical reports; administers breathalyzer/urinalysis; assists in investigations; participates in committees; undergoes increasing responsibilities with supervision.
