Job summary

ND Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is seeking a Parole and Probation Officer to supervise parolees and probationers, develop case plans, and coordinate with courts, law enforcement, and service providers. The role balances public safety with rehabilitation goals in western North Dakota.

Location options include Watford City or Williston. A $4,000 sign-on bonus applies, with the recruitment bonus paid in two installments. Telework is not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (preferred) in behavioral science, education, business, or related field plus three years in a relevant setting; or
• Associate's degree with five years of related work experience.
• Must be licensable as a North Dakota Peace Officer and pass background checks.
• Must pass the Critical Task Assessment (CTA) and complete ND POST training.
• Must have a valid Class D driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise individuals on parole and probation.
• Develop case plans promoting accountability and success.
• Conduct investigations and prepare reports.
• Collaborate with courts, law enforcement, treatment providers, and community partners.
• Support rehabilitation while protecting public safety.
• Build working relationships for long-term behavioral change.
