Job summary

Wallowa County is seeking a Parole and Probation Officer to provide supervision and investigative services for adult offenders under supervision. The role includes developing case plans, coordinating with agencies, and ensuring compliance with court conditions.

The position also acts as Work Crew Coordinator for community service projects, managing a Saturday shift and supervising a crew of offenders. The role requires DPSST certification and state-mandated training within one year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, social science or criminal justice, or 45 credits in these fields, or three years' criminal justice/public service experience.
• Must be 21 years old.
• Completion of DPSST Basic Certification in Parole and Probation, Firearms, First Aid/CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens and Defensive Tactics within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and supervise parolee/probationer caseload and conduct interviews to assess risk and compliance.
• Prepare written reports and maintain records for program operations.
• Develop supervision and case plans; monitor progress and restitution payments.
• Coordinate with courts, law enforcement, and community partners to assist program goals.
• Oversee the Parole and Probation Work Crew; schedule Saturday shifts and supervise offenders.
• Conduct pre-sentence investigations and various transfer investigations as assigned.
