Job summary

Clackamas County is hiring for a Parole & Probation Officer 2 in the Sheriff’s Office. The role requires certification with DPSST and experience supervising adults on probation or parole. Day-to-day duties include investigations, interviews, and coordination with courts and agencies.

Must meet age, citizenship, and background requirements, with on-site work in Oregon. Compensation ranges from $75,944.87 to $96,306.17 annually, with a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be currently or have been certified as a basic Parole and Probation Officer with at least one year of parole and probation experience within the last five years.
• Bachelor's degree is required OR equivalent experience; those without a degree may need to pass a reading/writing test per DPSST standards.
• Must be able to be certified as a Parole & Probation Officer with the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST).
• Must meet Oregon DPSST and Clackamas tattoo policy requirements.
• Must be 21 years of age and be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Pre-employment drug screening and extensive background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts interviews with adults on supervision to determine needs and develops programs for rehabilitation.
• Performs probation and parole investigations and supervises cases.
• Conducts home visits and evaluates environment and suitability for compliance with terms.
• Makes arrests and coordinates with law enforcement as needed.
• Interacts with courts, boards, and agencies to present facts and evaluations.
