Job summary

Wallowa County seeks a Parole and Probation Officer to supervise and investigate offenders released to community supervision, reducing risk through sanctions, counseling, and rehabilitation. The role also serves as Work Crew Coordinator for a 10-hour shift on Saturdays.

The ideal candidate will complete ORPAT, DPSST training, and pass background checks; an 18-month probation and DPSST certs are required. Schedule is Wednesday–Saturday with varied hours and locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, social science or criminal justice or 45 credits in those fields.
• Must be 21 years old.
• Complete DPSST Basic Certification within one year of hire.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Interview offenders, collect data, and develop supervision plans.
• Coordinate work crew projects and supervise 1–10 offenders on Saturdays.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and review case progress with partners.
• Enforce conditions, conduct searches, and assist with sentencing recommendations.
