Job summary

The City of McAllen is seeking a worker to perform a variety of manual labor tasks involved in developing projects, including concrete work, site preparation, setting grades and forms, drainage, fencing, and welding.

Under close to general supervision, you will assist with maintenance, utility spotting, minor electrical repairs, and installation of signs and fencing, contributing to ongoing city projects and operations with available benefits.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to perform manual labor involved with the development of a wide variety of projects. This includes, but is not limited to, concrete work, preparing work sites, setting grades and forms, coordinating utility spotting, building maintenance, minor electrical repairs, installation of signs and fencing, installation of drainage, completion of earthwork operations and welding. This job works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.
