If you enjoy the great outdoors and working daytime hours , we have a great opportunity for you as a part time Parks Technician. This role is crucial in preserving the natural beauty of Hampton, ensuring that our parks, green spaces and facilities are maintained, remain safe and are enjoyable for residents and visitors alike.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of one (1) year of full-time equivalent experience as a technician, equipment operator, or in a skilled labor intensive position, preferably in more than one functional area. Graduation from high school or successful completion of the GED preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
• This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City’s current substance abuse policy.
• Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion.

Additional Requirements

• Requires shift work to include evenings, weekends, and holidays and on-call emergency standby on a rotating basis.
• The incumbent may be considered “essential personnel” during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
