The County of Galveston is seeking a Parks and Cultural Services supervisor to oversee the maintenance and operations of the county parks system. You will lead assigned staff, set workloads, and ensure safety and quality across grounds and facilities.
Daily duties include scheduling, coordinating park maintenance crews, inspecting sites, monitoring contractor work, and ensuring pesticide and herbicide applications meet regulatory standards.
The purpose of this class is to supervise the maintenance and operations of the county parks system.
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken. The work is typically performed in a motor vehicle and outdoor setting. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects. The work is typically performed in the field including possible inclement weather conditions. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, grease, machinery and chemicals. The work requires the use of protective devises such as masks, eye protection, gloves etc.
