Job summary

The City of Bastrop (TX) seeks a Parks & Recreation and Streets & Drainage Technician to support administrative, clerical, and technical work for two departments. Responsibilities include greeting the public, managing projects, preparing reports, and coordinating budgets and purchasing.

The role also assists with GIS tasks in ESRI ArcGIS and related software, with emphasis on data entry, records, and inter-department coordination. Evening/community event support may be required.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible clerical experience.
• Advanced office and computer skills; experience with Municode, SAMSARA, ESRI Software.
• Bi-lingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced administrative, clerical, and technical support for Parks & Recreation and Streets & Drainage.
• Greet the public and handle inquiries, manage projects, and prepare reports.
• Coordinate budgets, purchasing, contracts, and supplier communications.
• Maintain GIS data, read civil plans, and enter data into GIS.
• Coordinate meetings, trainings, and prepare agendas/minutes.
