City of Avondale, AZ is seeking a Parks Specialist in the Parks, Recreation & Libraries Department. The role supports maintenance of public parks and recreational areas, provides front-line customer service, and assists with events and rentals.

This outdoor position requires fieldwork in city parks and other nature-based settings. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, one year of groundskeeping or customer service experience, and a valid Arizona Driver's License.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of groundskeeping or customer service experience.
• Valid Arizona Driver's License.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line customer service to park visitors and event participants.
• Assist in park and facility cleaning and maintenance, including restrooms and shelters.
• Set up fields and assist with sports turf maintenance and irrigation.
• Enforce park rules and promote park and trail safety.
• Complete daily and incident reports and document issues.
• Open and close facilities per procedures and perform on-site inspections.
