Job summary

City of Yuma is seeking a Parks Construction Specialist to maintain and revitalize parks, playgrounds, golf course infrastructure and related grounds.

Under supervision, you will perform skilled maintenance, operate power tools, supervise crews, ensure safety, and coordinate with city staff. Experience in concrete, welding or general building maintenance is preferred; a valid AZ driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND three years’ concrete, welding, or general building maintenance or construction experience.
• Welding or CPSI certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks at City facilities, parks, and landscaped areas; duties may vary according to job assignment and individual skills.
• Maintains, revitalizes and repairs parks, parkways, recreational and park facilities, and other landscaped areas.
• Performs maintenance and repairs within scope of authority and training; notifies supervisor of safety hazards and emergencies; performs traffic control as directed.
• Monitors facility conditions; inspects, plans, prioritizes maintenance; oversees removal of graffiti, hazards and vandalism; trains staff in methods and procedures.
