Job summary

The City of Clarksville is seeking an entry‑level Parks and Recreation Coordinator to plan, coordinate and monitor recreational and youth sports activities and programs. This position may hire seasonal staff, determine program offerings, promote services, assist with budget development and monitoring, maintain records, and prepare operational reports while supervising lower‑level staff.

Minimum qualifications include an associate degree in a related field, two years of recreation programming

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Sports Management, Public Administration, or related field.
• Two years of experience in recreational programming or sports management, including one year in a supervisory position.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the job's essential duties.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, and markets recreation programs and/or special events; evaluates programs for improvements.
• Promotes programs and events to the public.
• Develops operating manuals and monitors compliance.
• Assists with budget preparation and administration and cost estimates for budget items.
