This onsite role requires a Bachelor's degree and several years of park management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Parks & Recreation, Natural Resources, Forestry, Horticulture, Business Administration or related field.
• At least two years of full‑time work experience in the management of a park or recreation facility delivering public services.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Valid United States motor vehicle operator’s license; Michigan license required before hire.
• Golf Courses: MDARD Commercial Pesticide Certification in Turf Grass, Ornamental Plants, and Right of Way.
• Pass the employment medical examination and complete six‑month probation.
• Alternative path: high school diploma or GED with six years of related park management experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance, groundskeeping, and staff across parks.
• Provide financial reports and budgeting guidance to administration.
• Develop emergency planning and respond to incidents.
• Coordinate events and rentals for park facilities.
• Ensure park rules, safety standards, and public relations obligations are met.
