Job summary

Horry County, SC is seeking an experienced Parks and Recreation professional to assist the Deputy Director in guiding the Parks and Recreation Department. The role focuses on planning, budgeting, policy development, and staff oversight to ensure quality programs and facilities for the community.

Under limited supervision, you will supervise operations, coordinate events, draft contracts/MOUs, and work with other departments and community groups to deliver services while maintaining fiscal

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Parks and Recreation Management or related field with 3–5 years of experience.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day maintenance and operation of the Parks and Recreation department.
• Coordinate staff, equipment, and resources to deliver a wide range of services.
• Develop and implement policies related to daily operations.
• Draft contracts, MOUs, and agreements with other departments and community groups.
• Contribute to budget recommendations andstaffing decisions under supervision.
• Plan projects and oversee completion, coordinating with staff and resources.
• Supervise staff during special events and important assignments.
• Coordinate with other departments and community groups on events and maintenance.
• Investigate citizen requests and communicate corrective actions courteously.
