Job summary

The City of Atlanta Parks & Recreation department is seeking a Parks Supervisor to oversee staff, direct park maintenance, and ensure safety of park amenities. The role involves supervising daily operations, coordinating landscape and repairs, and maintaining compliance with relevant laws and standards.

The supervisor will lead by example, train team members, review work orders, and prepare reports while coordinating with other departments to deliver quality park services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Three (3) years of experience in park operations, grounds or building maintenance.
• Two (2) years of experience as lead worker or supervisor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizes meetings with department staff and community members to disseminate parks information and address concerns pertaining to the department.
• Represents department by presenting park development efforts to neighborhood associations and other organizations to foster support and gather feedback. Reports meeting findings to appropriate personnel.
• Drafts plans and specifications for assigned projects.
• Manages accreditation efforts for the department; ensures parks services and facilities adhere to laws and regulations while meeting standards.
• Coordinates maintenance/landscape planning and develops repair schedules for park grounds and facilities.
• Completes end-of-day reports and operates equipment as needed.
